Bridges can be as simple as a fallen tree or stepping stones across a creek or miles long incredible feat of engineerings made of steel and concrete. Yet, they are all built for the purpose of crossing obstacles. I know I am not the only one who enjoys bridges. People love going across them, either by foot or bike or car. You will often see people, like me, stopping to take pictures on or of bridges.
I see them as proof of mankind’s ingenuity in the face of adversity and the ineluctable desire for progress. And, maybe, I hold on to the hope that one day we will bridge the gap of inequality and join in our diversity.
